The Role
We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong PHP/Symfony expertise and additional WordPress know-how. In this role, you will support the development of robust backend solutions and contribute to WordPress-related projects, customizations, and integrations.
You will work closely with our team to build scalable applications, improve existing systems, and support web platforms with a strong focus on quality, performance, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using PHP and Symfony
- Build and enhance APIs using API Platform
- Work with Symfony Messenger for queues and asynchronous processing
- Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and schemas
- Implement and maintain backend logic using Doctrine ORM
- Contribute to software architecture, clean code practices, and design patterns
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and authentication systems such as JWT
- Collaborate with the team using Git and modern version control workflows
- Support WordPress development, including custom features, plugins, and integrations
- Contribute to WordPress customization and performance optimization
- Work with theme builders such as Elementor or similar tools
- Ensure best practices in web performance, security, SEO, and deployment workflows
- Support hosting environments, releases, and deployment processes
Your Profile
- Solid experience with PHP 7.x / 8.x
- Strong hands-on experience with the Symfony framework (Symfony 7 or newer preferred)
- Practical experience with API Platform
- Experience with Symfony Messenger, queues, and async processing
- Good knowledge of Doctrine ORM
- Strong experience with MySQL, including query optimization and schema design
- Good understanding of REST API design principles
- Knowledge of authentication systems such as JWT
- Understanding of software architecture and common design patterns
- Proficiency with Git and version control workflows
- Experience in WordPress development, including customization and plugin/integration work
- Familiarity with Elementor or another theme builder
- Good understanding of performance, security, SEO, and web best practices
- Experience with hosting environments and deployment workflows
- Structured, reliable, and quality-driven working style
- Very good English skills
